The Pogues are celebrating the 40th anniversary of their legendary album. Rum Sodomy & the Lash with a highly anticipated UK tour in May 2025. This marks another milestone for the band, who in 2024 commemorated the anniversary of their debut album,. (Red Roses for Me). Known for their spirited mix of Irish folk and punk rock. The Pogues have been a defining force in the genre, with Rum Sodomy & the Lash being one of their most influential albums.
The album, originally released in 1985, is filled with classic Pogues tracks. Including the raucous “The Sick Bed of Cúchulainn” and the haunting “Dirty Old Town.” To mark this milestone, the band will perform the album in full. Along with other fan favorites across key venues in the UK.
